A step before spring

Good and gray morning…

To put a bit of light to this greyish day I’ll show you the palette suggested by Pantone for next Spring-Summer season..

Here a resume of the colors…

1. Amparo Blue ( a bit brighter than navy blue)

2. Turquoise (very summer and lovely for the beach)

3. Violet (in a pale version, super chic)

4. Aurora ( a yellow slightly green)

5.Fusion Coral (i think this is goign to be my favorite)

6. Tomato Purée (they suggest to combine it with turquoise to get a retro look and I agree and love the combination!)

7.Pink Champagne (i’ve been using it in my collections and it’s very well accepted)

8. Tuscany ( combined with violet…super cool)

9. Dried herb (one of the neutrals I’ve been also using so far)

10. Eucalyptus (a gray with a touch of green, the other neutral to be worn when we have got enough sun to be proud of our tanned skin:))

And just to get a fresh air on this winter… I have made this clutch bag in wild silk (very rusty indeed) mixed with acrylic in the same palette and with little touches of primary colors (that came in the yarn) and until this moment I didn’t have any idea of where to put it…but I think in this bag is perfect and looks great!

Mariona—- the succesful XL knitted bag

The story starts one day when Mariona a very nice spanish girl writes me telling she’s in love with my ‘sac décontracté’ but she wanted a bigger one…and the most surprising is she discovered my through Artesanum a site I discovered when I began to see internet as a possibility because almost all the sites were in english and this platform is in spanish (my mother tongue), so I felt I has to be in.

This month, as well, they have given me the opportunity to be on front-page and is being very good so far.

So, the client just told me she wanted the bag in prune and big… the rest was all my decision. Very challenging and fun!

And seeing its evolution and the results I decided to start with a new era on my shops… bringing lists MADE TO ORDER and completely customizable…

Apparently this idea has pleased a lot of people, because Etsy choose this bag for one of its Etsy Finds, a mailing that reach a vast number of people and permits them to discover “new” creations and artists… for sure a good option to be and expand the universe of fans and clients…  So, you can read the article on The Storque (Etsy’s blog) and choose your Mariona bag on my shop.

Should I say month’s news?

Oh my! I can’t believe this month has passed so fast! There are only 33 days to Xmas!

November has been a bit silly… my parcel of yarns never arrived from England, they went back and we have some misunderstandings with the supplier so… uffff I had to look for new ones, organize myself to continue producing with almost nothing and here we are, I have found a new provider who has amazing fibers and you’ll see the results in next posts. Finally I’m glad … once again like yin and yang every negative contains a positive part.

Now the two new finished products are my lovely “Margarita” clutch bag knitted in a vibrant yellow-corn-mustard. I imagined it as a complement for a grey garment (to be the center of attention) or a light blue one (for a very retro look).

As I’m making a new vest (as the one I’ve made in white-cream some months ago) this time in a colorful palette… I was inspired to make this necklace I called “Spiral joy” and is obvious when you look at it, and you perceive the joy and good energy spreading all around…

Finally I’m having a SALE on my Etsy shop, my A little market shop and I’m going to participate on Dawanda Advent Calendar from 24th November to 17th December offering a 12% discount in all my products… so, good shopping!

And finally I finished the third pochette… as I told here it was a red buckle left…

As we are almost entering in Fall season I made it with warmer fibers as wool and a piece of brown leather which gives it a lot of character…

Now that I can look at the trhee of them I love the fact that they have the same shape but completely different styles… and as all hanmade things a unique not perfect one……..

Inspired by the colors of the buckles I have this is the result of the second pochette…there is one red left… I’ll see what materials I have to combine… I’m really enjoying doing these bags…..! It was very challenging at first, but now I can play a lot with rests of threads and it is great to see how simple can be recycling materials and achieving a piece to wear like this one…

This week I have lots of new things to show you (I had a very productive weekend) but I still have to do lots of photos…

This is another clutch bag, but is not a simple one… I did some changes on the design and I went into a natural finishing (metal finding are not my favorite ones, but I have to recognized that people love them)… so for this one I put a leather strap I ended with a vintage buckle I have bought in Buenos Aires before coming to Europe (happily I have two more left!!) and I also added leather to the sides which make me feel more comfrotable with the “interiors” …

I love it! I simply fell in love with it when I saw it finished… enjoy the most charming one of my series of clutch bags..

My second clutch bag

I’ve just finished a new clutch bag. This was made with a wider range of fibers in cream and peach colour and a little bit of golden acrylic. 

I think is more informal than the first one, what do you think?

Hand-woven Clutch bag

 

This one of a kind clutch bag is the result of mixing cotton, linen, ribbon and different acrylic fantasy fibers all in a creamy-white palette.

It is lined with pure silk, structured with fusible interfacing directly in contact with the weaving work and sew-in interlining between both; enough to be firm but without losing its natural feel.

A little bit rustic but with a touch of glamour… it has some loose sticking out fibers that are the result of the weaving technique.

Thanks to a friend who lend me a little loom, I started to weave this bag without knowing what would it be. I had some experience weaving because I started with indigenous techniques as Mapuche or Laboreo Andino, but also because when we were living in Spain I went to an art school where I learnt to weave in a big semi industrial loom… But the space is very important, and living in an flat make me think twice if have one or not.
So; this is a good start and I really love the final results. This bag is very useful to keep safe all this little thinhs we want to take care specially.
