Olive shawl

I still have the idea of continuing developing new models, although I have made new colors of the ones that I have already designed…

This shawl was created from the material .. as almost always … I saw  I had left enough cotton, a very fine one, those that when you see it, you know it will be a challenge … but finally after having worked three days without rest and then need two to recover from back pain:) gave me much satisfaction to see how it turned out that nothing mattered …

I finished it with a leather brooche and voila! … hopefully I can continue to develop this model in more colors … all depends on the acceptance …

Shawl/Scarf in soft, warm alpaca

So… with the profits of my last sale I took the chance and I bought this wonderful mannequin I called her Amanda… and I feel great not only because the photos and presentation are more professional but also it is a big source of inspiration… now I can pick up some fibers and just see how it looks in a way or another, or sewing over the mannequin, or invent lots of ways to wear garments… I can say I feel more a designer… 🙂

I have made tons of new things but it is always the same feeling of not being as enthusiastic whe, I have to publish them.. it is the less interesting part to do (for me) describing and not forgetting about anything.. taking care of all the details and writing and copy paste to all the sites I’m participating… if at least somebody could help me with this… but for now is the only way to do it.

This is one of the new accesories, a scarf/shawl made in alpaca wool (the last I had left in this color from Argentina) and now I have only brown so i should look for more… it’s a pitty I cannot buy directly from them…

Summer crocheted scarves and necklaces

wow, such a difficult mission to sit down in front of the PC in summertime!

but in the other hand I found myself doing lots of accesories in a season I have called of “explosion of creativity”…

looking on my stash I saw a lot of flowers (yes I love them)  and I did these two necklaces… one of them can be used as a headband (I think the other one is more difficult due to the two pom-poms but maybe if you like extravagancies…)

Then I also had made these pieces in crochet I wanted to use for  another project, but I thought it was nice to use them as borders for these scarves… and if you see it is the same motif, but they have very different styles.. one of them more romantic and the other one is a very risky one… I didn’t think of please anyone, just to combine colors, and to my surprise people appreciated a lot… and it was on Etsy’s frontpage… oh yeah! 😉

Recycled necklace and a summery-like bolero

As I told you I had a very productive week and today I show you two of my creations in one.. 😉

First a bolero I have made for the fall season and I loved it so much that I decided to repeat it… but the new verVanilla bolerosion is in cotton… and in a beatiful vanilla color…

I like the feminine style of it…

Fresh and very wearable, it can be used in almost every situation… because is elegant and casual at the same time…

Then, the other creation is a challenge for me… I absolutely love vintage buttons and every time I go to a flea market I die for them… espcially the big ones…

These are a group that Estela, a friend who lives in Buenos Aires gave it to me before I left Argentina, and I have kept them for a long time waiting for “the idea” of what to do with them… and today I found the shape very simmilar to a shell, so I have made a necklace… it was very strange because at first I found it weird, and little by little is like he is speaking to me, and I like it more and more…possibly because I had to think a lot about to respect the shape and give a good shape to the object…. and after hours of working I just couldn’t keep looking at it… but when I made the photos… I rediscover it and I loved the fact of give him “life” … rescuing buttons from a box…. so,now I’m a big fan of this project and I have bought a lot from Ebay, and today I receive them…. I was absoultely delighted to see all these colors and shapes… I hope to make some interesting things with them…

A blue sky shawl

I have to say that the project I was knitting with my circular needles was not what I expected to be… so, once I finished it, I decided to take it apart and start a new one with the same fiber.

It is incredible how something that take hours to build can be destroyed in seconds.. very metaphorical but true.

So, I thought in a poncho again, but then I imagined how this piece would be as a shawl, in a “décontracté” style for the nights of summer, when after sunbathe we need to cover our shoulder with something light and soft… and this was the result.

How to organize yourself to finish more projects!

How many times have you found yourself struggling in your projects and frustrated because you can’t finish them?

I’ve found pretty difficult to start and finish one project without wasting time in small things or being stacked sometimes because I don’t receive findings in time or I can’t decide which fabric I’m going to use to line something for example.

So the easier and more effective way I tried was dividing projects into small parts and carrying with four or five at the same time… and lately I decided to write the time I pass in each one to know if this I’m charging is ok or not.

So at the time I have:

  1. A scarf I finished yesterday in the loom ( I show it at the end of the post) and now I’m thinking about what is going to be next because the loom is free again.
  2. A series of bracelets I have in the vertical loom (work in progress 75% and I must finished today or tomorrow) and then add the findings of course.
  3. A bolero/shrug I am knitting with circular needles (work in progress 70%) maybe for this weekend is finished.
  4. A clutch bag which I finished the fabric (hand-woven in the loom) but I have to dye a fabric and I don’t have a proper pot I’m sure I’m going to find it, but up to this moment I’m thinking of ordering more frames because I really enjoyed to make this bags

So, for example this scarf it took me 10 hours to finish it but I have to say that with my loom it is impossible to weave for more than 2 hours because my back suffers a lot… as a consequence this work was finished in one week* thi s is also great to know if somebody asks you for a custom order… and you can know in how much time you are going to deliver it.

Tell me more about your experiences… it is always useful to know!

Have a great day

Second version

It’s been a long time not publishing anything for one of my creations so it’s time to upgrade! and it will be more this week!

This time I’ve made a second version of my romantic “springy” shawl in pure cotton and pastel colors … I love seeing the variations of the models without repeating the colors … what would be the next?
