A step before spring

Good and gray morning…

To put a bit of light to this greyish day I’ll show you the palette suggested by Pantone for next Spring-Summer season..

You can download the .pdf file on their site http://www.pantone.com/pages/pantone/Pantone.aspx?pg=20694&ca=4

Here a resume of the colors…

1. Amparo Blue ( a bit brighter than navy blue)

2. Turquoise (very summer and lovely for the beach)

3. Violet (in a pale version, super chic)

4. Aurora ( a yellow slightly green)

5.Fusion Coral (i think this is goign to be my favorite)

6. Tomato Purée (they suggest to combine it with turquoise to get a retro look and I agree and love the combination!)

7.Pink Champagne (i’ve been using it in my collections and it’s very well accepted)

8. Tuscany ( combined with violet…super cool)

9. Dried herb (one of the neutrals I’ve been also using so far)

10. Eucalyptus (a gray with a touch of green, the other neutral to be worn when we have got enough sun to be proud of our tanned skin:))

So, what do you think about it? Comment and tell me which one do you prefer!!

And just to get a fresh air on this winter… I have made this clutch bag in wild silk (very rusty indeed) mixed with acrylic in the same palette and with little touches of primary colors (that came in the yarn) and until this moment I didn’t have any idea of where to put it…but I think in this bag is perfect and looks great!

Summer crocheted scarves and necklaces

wow, such a difficult mission to sit down in front of the PC in summertime!

but in the other hand I found myself doing lots of accesories in a season I have called of “explosion of creativity”…

looking on my stash I saw a lot of flowers (yes I love them)  and I did these two necklaces… one of them can be used as a headband (I think the other one is more difficult due to the two pom-poms but maybe if you like extravagancies…)

Then I also had made these pieces in crochet I wanted to use for  another project, but I thought it was nice to use them as borders for these scarves… and if you see it is the same motif, but they have very different styles.. one of them more romantic and the other one is a very risky one… I didn’t think of please anyone, just to combine colors, and to my surprise people appreciated a lot… and it was on Etsy’s frontpage… oh yeah! 😉

A funky poncho

I loved the idea of making a collection of ponchos with different styles for this summer and once I had them finished I realized that it can be a good garment for any season… it depends with what other clothes you combine it…
So this is made in a vivid pink cotton that reminds me a “framboise ice-cream” and I mixed it with other fibers, I think is really trendy… isn’t it?

New choker’s collection (crochet)

Do you remember I have bought a lot of buttons? So, I’ve made a line of chokers, that also can be used as a cuff… it is very casual, summery and ideal for the beach time… simply wear a swimsuit and this choker and you are going to feel like a queen! 😉

A custom poncho

This is the first time I make something to order and in a virtual way… and I have to say I’m overwhelmed with the experience!

A client who bought a bag from my shop at Dawanda last year ordered this poncho she saw I had sold out two months ago.

It was great not only because I love when a client come back, but also I love when they know what they want.

So… I bought the yarns and they arrived really fast from England. I started to work after she approved the colors (I sent two options and she could choose) and she decided the palest ones (I agree this is a beautiful combination…) pale green cotton, lilac ribbon bamboo and a crazy yarn full of texture and colors… lovely!

So, here it is… and now the poncho is going to live in Austria… thanks to this kind customer 🙂

Recycled necklace and a summery-like bolero

As I told you I had a very productive week and today I show you two of my creations in one.. 😉

First a bolero I have made for the fall season and I loved it so much that I decided to repeat it… but the new verVanilla bolerosion is in cotton… and in a beatiful vanilla color…

I like the feminine style of it…

Fresh and very wearable, it can be used in almost every situation… because is elegant and casual at the same time…

Then, the other creation is a challenge for me… I absolutely love vintage buttons and every time I go to a flea market I die for them… espcially the big ones…

These are a group that Estela, a friend who lives in Buenos Aires gave it to me before I left Argentina, and I have kept them for a long time waiting for “the idea” of what to do with them… and today I found the shape very simmilar to a shell, so I have made a necklace… it was very strange because at first I found it weird, and little by little is like he is speaking to me, and I like it more and more…possibly because I had to think a lot about to respect the shape and give a good shape to the object…. and after hours of working I just couldn’t keep looking at it… but when I made the photos… I rediscover it and I loved the fact of give him “life” … rescuing buttons from a box…. so,now I’m a big fan of this project and I have bought a lot from Ebay, and today I receive them…. I was absoultely delighted to see all these colors and shapes… I hope to make some interesting things with them…

Thinking about summer…

I’ve made a line of “bijoux” for summer with organic fibers and recycled vintage buttons and rest of leather I had from other projects.

Today I show you the first one. All of them have slightly different styles due to I decided the design in order to the materials I’m working with.

Always I've liked geometry in all the senses: mathematical, philosophical and aesthetic. It has been my main source of inspiration together with the Golden Ratio.
