Centralizing

Hello world!what’s going on?

Here everything is changing and I have some news for you:

First of all, I have decided to centralize my blog on http://crearescreer.blogspot.com that was the first I started and originally I wrote in spanish (my mother tongue). But after analyzing and taking in count all the time I pass editing pictures and writing in different platforms (shops included) I thought making one post in spanish, english and french in only one blog would be more productive.

So, having said that I invite you to follow all the news and abouts over there. Last week I participated on Etsy Craft Night in Paris and there are lots of things to share (you can also have an update and follow me on Facebook http://facebook.com/crearescreer and I also suggesting you lots of things and people to follow on Twitter http://twitter.com/anasousa_etsy

On my blogger blog you have also the option to suscribe for posts and receive them directly on you e-mail….

So, thanks for updating the info and see you around!

Défilé Yumi Katsura by Ji Haye 2010

I consider myself as a very lucky person…

And in fact yesterday I lived on of the bet moments so far in Paris… almost without thinking about it I was assisting to Yumi Katsura défilé on the Westin Hotel. Invited by a friend who work on the industry I had access to the backstage and I felt as a little girl looking at a very different world… models were almost to go in the catwalk and everthing was ready to start.

I came back to my chair and when the show started  I found myself excruting every little detail on the dresses… the theme was “Enchanted forest” so we could see lots of flowers, butterflies, leaves, textures and colors that gave as a fresh air of nature.

Then again in the backstage, my friend tells Ji Haye (the designer) I was an artisan ( I was shaking as crazy) and she told me: “artisan are never sad, it’s necesary to move your hands to clear your mind”… beautiful words I will have with me for life….

A step before spring

Good and gray morning…

To put a bit of light to this greyish day I’ll show you the palette suggested by Pantone for next Spring-Summer season..

You can download the .pdf file on their site http://www.pantone.com/pages/pantone/Pantone.aspx?pg=20694&ca=4

Here a resume of the colors…

1. Amparo Blue ( a bit brighter than navy blue)

2. Turquoise (very summer and lovely for the beach)

3. Violet (in a pale version, super chic)

4. Aurora ( a yellow slightly green)

5.Fusion Coral (i think this is goign to be my favorite)

6. Tomato Purée (they suggest to combine it with turquoise to get a retro look and I agree and love the combination!)

7.Pink Champagne (i’ve been using it in my collections and it’s very well accepted)

8. Tuscany ( combined with violet…super cool)

9. Dried herb (one of the neutrals I’ve been also using so far)

10. Eucalyptus (a gray with a touch of green, the other neutral to be worn when we have got enough sun to be proud of our tanned skin:))

So, what do you think about it? Comment and tell me which one do you prefer!!

************************************************************************************************

And just to get a fresh air on this winter… I have made this clutch bag in wild silk (very rusty indeed) mixed with acrylic in the same palette and with little touches of primary colors (that came in the yarn) and until this moment I didn’t have any idea of where to put it…but I think in this bag is perfect and looks great!

Bilan 2009 and my first SWAP!

Yes! I have made my first SWAP…. with the really nice Lidia of parisbyknit that I have met thanks to ALM. She wanted my Margarita clutch and I absolutely fell in love with their mittens!

The experience was fantastic not only because we have loved the interchange but because is great to meet someone who doesn’t get bored speaking about wool, for example.

Enjoy their mittens and visit her lovely shop!

_______________________________________________________________________________________

And 2009 is finishing and a new balance is made.

For me was the year were the dreams came true…

When I was a child and somebody asked me what I wanted to be on life I always gave them different kind of answers, that’s why lot of people who knows me says I’m unstable. yeah. And what about of this people who want to make loads of things and not only one? can we? yes, we can (sic).

So, I wanted to be an artists, then a journalist, then I studied international business and finally I made the trip of my life and I decided I would be an artisan (this time for life).

In 2009 I didn’t “work” so, I became all of this in once. An artisan thanks to the threads and needles, a journalist thanks to my blogs, a trader thanks to the virtual markets and globally an artist (even if I don’t feel it at all) 😉

For sure in 2010 I’ll be back to work “formally” but I never ever in my life will abandon this precious treasure I have conquered. Amen.

Have a wonderful 2010!

Mariona—- the succesful XL knitted bag

The story starts one day when Mariona a very nice spanish girl writes me telling she’s in love with my ‘sac décontracté’ but she wanted a bigger one…and the most surprising is she discovered my through Artesanum a site I discovered when I began to see internet as a possibility because almost all the sites were in english and this platform is in spanish (my mother tongue), so I felt I has to be in.

This month, as well, they have given me the opportunity to be on front-page and is being very good so far.

So, the client just told me she wanted the bag in prune and big… the rest was all my decision. Very challenging and fun!

And seeing its evolution and the results I decided to start with a new era on my shops… bringing lists MADE TO ORDER and completely customizable…

Apparently this idea has pleased a lot of people, because Etsy choose this bag for one of its Etsy Finds, a mailing that reach a vast number of people and permits them to discover “new” creations and artists… for sure a good option to be and expand the universe of fans and clients…  So, you can read the article on The Storque (Etsy’s blog) and choose your Mariona bag on my shop.

I feel happy from the start to the end!

Have a great Xmas and see you soon!
