Centralizing

Hello world!what’s going on?

Here everything is changing and I have some news for you:

First of all, I have decided to centralize my blog on http://crearescreer.blogspot.com that was the first I started and originally I wrote in spanish (my mother tongue). But after analyzing and taking in count all the time I pass editing pictures and writing in different platforms (shops included) I thought making one post in spanish, english and french in only one blog would be more productive.

So, having said that I invite you to follow all the news and abouts over there. Last week I participated on Etsy Craft Night in Paris and there are lots of things to share (you can also have an update and follow me on Facebook http://facebook.com/crearescreer and I also suggesting you lots of things and people to follow on Twitter http://twitter.com/anasousa_etsy

On my blogger blog you have also the option to suscribe for posts and receive them directly on you e-mail….

So, thanks for updating the info and see you around!

Challenging collaboration

In october I received an e-mail from Mimo, a girl I met in the Etsy gathering back in April. She asked me if I wanted to collaborate with her in a photo session for an academic work she had to make, and she needed a hat shaped as a pine cone.

She was going to recreate a scene from one of Elsa Beskow’s illustrations.

So, first I was surprised that she had kept my card and trust me to make it… and immediately after that I felt panic (yes!) because I never hade made a hat with this shape… but instead of reacting not taking the risk I assumed that maybe was something I needed to prove myself… making the hat in one month, searching the materials, giving a product having just a brochure of information and pleasing this person who had a need.

So the information I received were these pictures with these lovely people on the woods (that I loved from the very first moment)…

I looked for the material and I sent it to Mimo to have ALWAYS her OK (this point was very important to gain confidence) then, I made the prototype (mini) and again I sent it by e-mail to see if I was right or wrong. It was easy because we understood each other very well and everything was clear.

Then I arrived on time to give her the hat (one day in advance indeed)… and the results was this lovely hat (that is for sale if somebody is interested : euros 70)

Enjoy the results and please click on the picture to see it on detail. Characters were made in scale (as in the illustrations) so if you don’t click you risk of not perceiving the details.

Should I say month’s news?

Oh my! I can’t believe this month has passed so fast! There are only 33 days to Xmas!

November has been a bit silly… my parcel of yarns never arrived from England, they went back and we have some misunderstandings with the supplier so… uffff I had to look for new ones, organize myself to continue producing with almost nothing and here we are, I have found a new provider who has amazing fibers and you’ll see the results in next posts. Finally I’m glad … once again like yin and yang every negative contains a positive part.

Now the two new finished products are my lovely “Margarita” clutch bag knitted in a vibrant yellow-corn-mustard. I imagined it as a complement for a grey garment (to be the center of attention) or a light blue one (for a very retro look).

As I’m making a new vest (as the one I’ve made in white-cream some months ago) this time in a colorful palette… I was inspired to make this necklace I called “Spiral joy” and is obvious when you look at it, and you perceive the joy and good energy spreading all around…

Finally I’m having a SALE on my Etsy shop, my A little market shop and I’m going to participate on Dawanda Advent Calendar from 24th November to 17th December offering a 12% discount in all my products… so, good shopping!

Tango and more vestiges…

This week I’m finished a new scarflette of my collection that was very easy to name… I called it Tango … its net is like the ones you can see in tango women dancer’s tights and the colors are very typical and passionate ones.

Then I sold all my unisex hand-woven scarves (oh yeah!) and I had to make one very quickly (I’ll tell you more in the next post ;))), so I did a grey one but this time I used a thread in blue cobalt (such a pretty one) I found in Barbes neighbourhood.

vestiges

I called this model “vestiges” that means “relics” and I think this name is very appropriate because at every time I finished one is like it has lived for a long time yet and it is there, simple but stoic … the same sensation you can have when you used shoes for a long time… they are not perfect but you love them more than the first day… well these scarves are brand new (not the same case) but the material and its character make me think to something old and valuable. Hope you like them and have a great week-end!

More ponchos for this fall!

Time to name my creations! I didn’t realized how difficult and important is to name my products !

In which language (spanish: my mother tongue, english: the universal language, or french: the country I live in) should I do it? Why? What’s the inspiration? and the meaning? Long hours going in circles trying to recover my creativity from the bottom of my ‘cerveaux’ (brain)…

So, now I have a beautiful popurri to show you, but as I don’t want to be boring… I will just start with these two new versions of my creations:

First this poncho.
I considered the “stripes” made in different fibers as a “path, way” and finally I arrived to “route” but as I think is not a teluric and normal poncho, I wanted something as “alternative” and I came to name it “the diverted route“.

In the fall/winter version colors are darker…
the diverted route

The following is the third version of the granny style poncho, this time I used a teal angora/wool fiber to lighten it up. In order to the name I imagined it on a gril walking through the mist and as it’s look is very “filmy” I called it “floating in the mist”…

Hope you like them and you can see more photos in my shops or my facebook page

Rustic body, soft in essence

Today I’ll show you two finished products…

One of them is a revisited poncho of this one but in pastels colors and not fringes.  You’ll tell me which version you prefer. Both of them are made with the same motif and concept rustic wool as the main ones and softer delicate ones in the interior…

  Poncho granny style

And followinf with the rustic concept and suave feeling I’m going to show you this scarf I made for a friend that has helped us a lot since we are in France, so Benoît is the new owner of this echarpe that I see more and more as a disctintive piece in my shops and a unisex option with a lot of personality.

Olive shawl

I still have the idea of continuing developing new models, although I have made new colors of the ones that I have already designed…

This shawl was created from the material .. as almost always … I saw  I had left enough cotton, a very fine one, those that when you see it, you know it will be a challenge … but finally after having worked three days without rest and then need two to recover from back pain:) gave me much satisfaction to see how it turned out that nothing mattered …

I finished it with a leather brooche and voila! … hopefully I can continue to develop this model in more colors … all depends on the acceptance …

News of the week

Last week I was very busy…yeah!

Making new things and also preparing some shipments … It seems that my shop in French created in the platform of A Little Market has begun to be known … and apparently my shawls are French’s favourite … so I’m producing  more of them …

I must also say that my store at Dawanda “woke up” after a long period of having no sales … so, a couple of chokers are gone and a summer pochette gave much to talk … is already living in Germany …

Thus today I am presenting a couple of new colors chokers but adapted for the Fall / Winter and in the line of scarves I design to implement this collar made of bamboo fiber blended with a super soft acrylic and decorated with a fun  fiber with hairs that gives it a glamorous look … hope you enjoy them!

Ah! and perhaps you are a little bit surprised because it is been a while without interviews… I thought in holidays period was difficult to engage people to interview but I’ll start again with them in Setember…so, in two weeks we will know more about new talented people …

Have a good week!
